About Me
I believe that many of the patterns we ultimately want to change in ourselves – stuckness, maladaptive habits, self-limiting beliefs – began as our best attempts to get our needs met and to cope with situations that felt overwhelming. Therapy is the process of figuring out how to honor those needs and learn healthier ways of dealing with them so that we can show up more fully in our lives. We will collaborate in identifying the areas of your life you would like to change and work together to reach your goals.
I strive to bring a trauma-informed and anti-racist perspective to all my work and regularly read about and attend trainings to deepen my knowledge of both. I recognize that as a cisgender white woman, I move through the world with considerable privilege. I am committed to speaking openly with all my clients about how our identities shape our perspectives and lived experiences.
In my spare time, I love tinkering around in my garden (there is so much ordinary joy for me in watching a bumblebee get covered in pollen). I am a book nerd, a decent PC video gamer (give me the swords & magic stuff, not the modern weapons stuff), and a semi-competent cook. I enjoy figuring out how many types of cheese I can fit in my fridge at once.
