My therapeutic approach and style are informed primarily by my training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). DBT is a treatment developed to help people regulate intense emotion dysregulation and create lives that are more balanced and fulfilling through a combination of individual and group therapy. AEDP is an attachment-oriented, relational psychotherapy which helps people process challenging emotional and interpersonal experiences and ultimately connect with their innate resilience. Both of these modalities can offer significant healing for people with a history of trauma. In my work with clients, I often bring in both these ways of working, titrated based on each person’s needs and goals for our work.
I was previously the Associate Clinical Director of Columbus Park, an Intensive Outpatient and outpatient eating disorder treatment center. Our team received ongoing consultation from Dr. Lucene Wisniewski, one of the leaders in the field of treating eating disorders using DBT. I completed a Masters-level internship at Columbia University’s inpatient Eating Disorder unit.
